Answered my own question. LOL. “Notably, Kim Young Kwang will only serve his military service for six months. The reason being that the actor’s father, who had passed away when Kim Young Kwang was younger, had been a Vietnam War veteran, as well as an acknowledged person of national merit. Thus, abiding by regulations, children of a person considered to be of national merit are required to serve only six months of military service.”
