I am a Fine Artist, an oil painter who enjoys the complexities and details that constitute mature human situations and themes. This actress is wonderful and as I age, grow more open to love in general – including same sex relationships. My question is “Our Love Story” had so much potential. But what stood out were poor decision making; not saying things one wishes to say; no commitment to her own Art and future as an artist to throw herself into a relationship that showed no true resolve. What about her initial live- in partner? Was Our Love Story about the lack of potential for success in same sex relationships — It was lovely at its beginning but painful to watch her damaging decision making. I almost could not watch the ending. This alone opened up even more questions. We live with too much of that. It is the Artists role – and the film maker – to provide solutions, useful avenues to pursue for a successful future. We are not chronicle poor choices. Rather we design ways through them. Nice movie.
