We need you acting; you enrich every kdrama with your presence and talent. I am sure that the best is yet to come in your life and the masterpiece role it’s waiting for you.

I hope that all this hard time was a blessing in disguise for you to become stronger, wiser and make the right changes in your life.
Park Shi Hoo you are so beloved and supported worldwide star, but also, as a human being you must love yourself more and have much more self-esteem and then you’ll never get involved in such a twisted sordid story.

But it’s over now and in time, all the love, support and recognition which are surrounded will help you to heal your wounds. Stay healthy, self-confident, keep smiling and don’t forget you are a winner.

    Korean-American Says:

All the people here who seem very happy with PSH’s sexual assault charges being dropped recently in Korea don’t seem to know that both PSH & that woman were found to have lied some about that incident while going the lie detector tests according to several Korean newspapers(I can read & understand Korean even better than I can read & understand English, & so, I often read several Korean internet newspapers.) & none of the other evidences were very conclusive either, & so, both sides have just agreed to drop charges against each other; & THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT PSH HAS BEEN FOUND TO HAVE BEEN NOT GUILTY ALL ALONG BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION, PEOPLE!
At least, the very fact that he had had a 1 night stand with someone that he had just met & the fact that he did it while another guy was around makes him a big jerk in the eyes of Koreans & NO KOREAN WANTS TO SEE HIM ACTING ANYMORE according to all the Korean comments in all the Korean web portals that I’ve checked so far, & so, I think U people should all know that no one may ever be able to see him again in any new K-dramas in the future.

Even with the closure of case, looks like some of these gossip mongers are still not willing to let go.

I have recently watched COM and am now watching CDDA at Onetvasia.
Looking forward to PSH new dramas and movies in near future…

    caondami Says:

All PSH fans and people have common sense or not retard know he is innocent from the beginning of the incident broke out. You, as Korean, should know that Korean legal system is different from western country which doesn’t have jury system. PSH and his family didn’t want the case to go into trial; this may be more harmful than compromise. His lawyers are the experts, this must be their best suggestion/solution that he had to conciliate in order to go back on the right track asap. Of course, the best ending is the prosecutor announced that A defamed him and put those alphabets into jail. He must have a hard time to make a choice between his futures and to win the case. Though the Korean media or netizen doubt his innocent, I and many his fans believe him without any hesitation. His future may be rocky. Remember how he struggled in the first decade of his performing life, and he mentioned he was a long runner in Healing Camp, I believe he will come back like phoenix from the fire. We, as his fans, should ignore those nonsense comments, just stand behind him and support what he does.

    caondami Says:

The results from those voting poll, PSH is always the first, or among the top. KBS, SBS, & MBC had announced earlier that they will not ban PSH until the verdict come out*, i.e. they will not abandon him as long as he is not guilty. If I were those E-biz bosses, I won’t abandon PSH as long as he is popular. In other word, he is still a goose who laid golden eggs, who would refuse money? His movie COM in Japan & Singapore, tv series Family Honour in China reflected that he was not affected in the midst of the incident. The PD of The Princess Man in an interview said he would invite PSH to act in his play when the script is appropriate for PSH. He wanted to help PSH because he is a talented actor and a pleasure to work with. All PSH need now is a long rest – to heal the wound that is deep inside. Let’s pray he’ll recover soon.

  18. 1218
    KDaddict Says:

“You people” are so happy that the charges against PSH were dropped, bcos it means he is not guilty of rape, quasi-rape, or semi-rape.
You said “both sides have lied in the lie detector tests”. The results of those tests are kept confidential. Just bcos someone in WPS leaked that they both lied, doesn’t mean that the content of the leakage is true.
Of course this whole matter has hurt his image. That was what Hwang and A wanted in the first place.
Of course his having a one-nght stand hurts his image. It doesn’t make him a pure lover, pure as first snow, but it doesn’t make him a criminal. Everyone would prefer that he hadn’t. If certain viewers hold that against him n as u say, “don’t want to see him act anymore”, well, I think it is unnecessarily judgmental–who in the entertainment business is a virgin boy or girl, or is celibate?
It is understood that he’ll have to pay a price for his indiscretion, but there exist people who are more forgiving and like him as an actor; they’d like to see him back on their screen again.

  19. 1219
    tigerb Says:

@Korean-American 1212: let time tell for psh’s future. if his fans clamor for him, would the south korean movie/tv industry ignore that, if it means money for them? if you are in the u.s., shouldn’t you be adaptive and give a person not found guilty a chance to move forward?

  20. 1220
    Daniela Says:

    @ Korean-American 1212!

If the Korean society is that hypocrite to sacrifice a national value like Park Shi Hoo, with a worldwide recognition, on the altar of a false morality, go on, but then the image, which they sell outside, is false too.
However, we aren’t fools, we are informed people and we are capable to discern the truth with our conscience. Who raped whom? The big truth is that A has no direct evidences, only circumstantial evidences, to sustain her accusations, meaning that juridical is no case, so she withdrew the complaint. How convenient for her backers from Western Police Station and her media henchmen. Don’t you think so? The WPS doesn’t need to make public excuses to PSH for the violation of his human rights and the media henchmen can demolish on with their trash-speculative-journalism the PSH’s image.
In my opinion this A is a wicked puppet and behind her are some wire-pullers.
If PSH own country didn’t give him a second chance in his career then I’m sure that the rest of Asia will adopt him with open arms: China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan … and his talent will shine wherever.

  21. 1221
    caondami Says:

I don’t understand why among comments in this forum, only one comment is negative and that is coming from a Korean. Do we, outsider, misunderstand the Korean moral culture, i.e. at least similar to Asian countries? Is the Korean really mind/reject 1 night stand, or just PSH cannot do that. Don’t tell me that this kind of affair won’t happen or rarely happen in Korea, or Korean entertainment world. May be Korean-American, u are a special one who care this kind of affair, can not represent the whole Korean mindset, or are you pessimistic?
Through the PSH case, I really learn a lesson of Korea – legal system, culture, especially corruption culture, professionalism of police and media.

  22. 1222
    blue Says:

I have a bitter taste when I think of South Korea. I learn the following lessons of S.Korea through PSH case: in South Korea human rights are not respected, the legal system of SK is corrupt, the police is corrupt, unprofessional, amateur, the media can make or knock down a man, nobody defends the man, because there is no law, the S.Korean society is the one of a double morality – they sell a false picture of their stars, they want a perfect picture of the actors forgetting the fact that behind their stars are women and men in flesh and blood with good and bad; the majority of Korean citizens are cruel, like vultures and jackals avid blood. Heard Korean society about love your neighbor, about mercy, about forgiveness, about second chance? PSH’s guilt was not proven, so he is innocent. The fact that he had a 1 night stand with someone, bothers citizens, but he is single and who in the entertainment business is a virgin boy? Korean citizens are perfect? without any mistake? If they think this they are just hypocrites. Two lives are destroyed, they want more blood? Korean citizens want to kill him with rocks? for one night? It has to satisfy them?
I feel pain for him, for all his ordeal. it not yet finish. The fact that his own country do not want him as an actor it’s another very painful blow for him. PSH’s dream is to be a good actor. And he is a good and talented actor, with fans worldwide. I pray and I hope he can continue the dream.

your fan need to see you comeback
    I’m always love you

The image of love, of ppl, that they sell in KDs is false all along. Is it possible that the chaebol prince only has eyes for this 1 humble maiden? Or that each couple is a first love? Or is destined from childhood? That insistence on morality n purity is completely un-real. We all know it’s ridic, but we don’t worry abt it when it is entertainment. It’s really sad when they want to impose that false morality on a living, breathing person, n punish him for 1 night’s indiscretion by taking away 10 years of hard work!

    Koreans R hypocrites/cruel/unnecessarily judgmental?

I’m sure that there must be hypocrites, cruel people, & unnecessarily judgmental people in Korea, but the majority of my native country’s people have faithfully followed the strict rules of sexual conduct(Basically, no sex before marriage & marrying the other person quickly afterwards if one happened to have sex with someone before marriage….) for thousands of years.

Of course, probably no Korean these days believes that the majority of the younger generations of Koreans R still following these rules, but still, THE KOREAN SOCIETY AS A WHOLE DOES NOT APPOROVE OF 1 NIGHT STANDS, & this is why Korean people don’t want to see him acting anymore people, & those of U who claim that there R no virgins in the entertainment world R dead wrong!!!

U guys don’t really seem to understand the Korean society even if U guys R K-drama fans….

  28. 1228
    Korean-American Says:

p.s. At the least, most of those younger generations of Koreans who do have sexual relationships before marriages have relationships that last for sometime, not 1 night stands. Koreans as a whole do not approve of 1 night stands!

  29. 1229
    Korean-American Says:

p.p.s. However, I should have said that it’s the majority of Koreans who don’t want to see him anymore, not every Korean, & so, I do apologize for this mistake, but defending PSH assiduously(like claiming that he’s innocent purely because his charges have been dropped) just because U R a big fan of him is crazy in my opinion.

Come on, Korean-American, are the people of your native country blind, deaf, stone headed, or cold blooded? PSH is the victim! It was totally a set up from the beginning, and the master mind is still doing his job to ruin PSH in order to make him disappear ever in the Korean e-world even after the case was dropped. May be A dropped the case was their plan, without explaining the reason and leave mysterious for your native fellows to question. Is moral really more important than a person being trapped, and his name was defamed? Some weak individual would even end his life in such circumstances. Yes, PSH had done wrong for having a 1 night stand (in your country’s standard), but he had lost all he had in one night and “rape scandal” will follow him in his future life, or even after he died. Is it not enough to get your country fellows’ sympathy? Everybody would do something wrong in his life, PSH is only a man, a human being after all. If people of S. Korea abandon PSH because of 1 night stand, they are not only hypocrites, they are jerks. They don’t know they have thrown away a diamond, a 5C starry diamond that other people would like to accept with pleasure.

  33. 1233
    caondami Says:

As Korean-American said, 1 night stand is a sin that can not be forgiven by the Korean society, how about those married men having mistress/mistresses or vice versa? I think the Korean allow this and is quite common as seen in Kdrama. In my standard, or I can say, in western countries, a married person with an affair/mistress, etc. can not be accepted, and it is a crime in some countries. Korean-American, is it not a crime, or being accepted in S. Korea to have mistress? If the answer is yes, the S. Korean moral culture is too weird for me.

  34. 1234
    KDaddict Says:

I doubt many ppl think that 1 night stands are a good thing to engage in. You don’t want that behavior in the person you date or marry.
I watch actors for their entertainment value, how well they portray their chars, how they look, the roles they choose, and how much range they have in their acting, etc.
Actors being pure in heart n soul, be celibate when single, marry as soon as they have sex w sb add nothing to my viewing experience. Actors Not being so doesn’t take away from their performance.
I don’t intend to date or marry them, so what is it to me the viewer whether they do or not?
What right do I have to judge other ppl’s private lives, when they are not related to me, when they are not my employees, when I don’t pay a penny to watch them on tv or online?
IF it is true that a society as a whole feel that they have that right, well, then they are showing their mettle to the world.

    @Korean-american #1227

We may not fully understand the Korean society, but are you sure you understand your society of today? Which era were you from?

Are you aware of the thriving sex industry in S Korea in this 21st century despite it being illegal? See article below which was published recently on 29 April 2013.

“South Korea, a wealthy, powerful Asian super-state, technology hub and stalwart U.S. ally, has a deep, dark secret. Prostitution and the sex trade flourish in South Korea just under the country’s shiny surface.

Despite its illegality, prostitution and the sex trade is so huge that the government once admitted it accounts for as much as 4% of South Korea’s annual GDP — about the size of the fishing and agriculture industries combined.

The South Korean government’s Ministry for Gender Equality estimates that about 500,000 women work in the national sex industry, though, according to the Korean Feminist Association, the actual number may exceed 1 million. This means that 1 out of every 25 women in the country might be selling their bodies for sex — despite the passage of tough anti-sex-trafficking legislation in recent years. (For women between the ages of 15 and 29, up to one-fifth have worked in the sex industry at one time or another, according to estimates.)

    Naturally, demand is high.

According to the government-run Korean Institute of Criminology, one-fifth of men in their 20s buy sex at least four times a month, creating an endless customer base for prostitutes.

Even worse, child and teen prostitution are also prevalent in South Korea.

Al-Jazeera reported that some 200,000 South Korean youths run away from home annually, with many of them descending into the business of sex, according to a report by Seoul’s municipal government. A separate survey suggested that half of female runaways become prostitutes.

Not only is South Korea home to child and teen prostitution, but South Korean men are also driving such illicit trade in foreign countries, particularly in Southeast Asia, according to the Korean Institute of Criminology, based on surveys conducted in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines.”

“If the testimony from many underage prostitutes, police officers and human rights groups is true, South Koreans are the biggest customers of the child sex industry in the region,” their report stated, reported the Korea Times newspaper.

“That’s very shameful for [South Korea].”
Park Je-Sun, a blogger, wrote on Threewisemonkeys, that in Seoul, South Korea’s largest city, prostitution is widespread and peculiarly civilized – and a central component of the local business culture.

“The majority of top-end, that is, rich, businessmen in Seoul are more familiar with sex industry culture than in a number of other countries,” Park wrote.

“Sex and power are closely linked in this city.”

As prostitution is illegal in Korea, it should mean Korean men going to prostitutes is unacceptable by law and society. Yet, sex industry thrives because demand is high.
Korean women selling sex should also be unacceptable – yet based on statistics – 4% of women are working in the sex industry; 20% of women aged between 15-29 are working or have worked in this industry.

So, if Korean men and women themselves are not chaste, why are they so critical of others?

Isn’t hypocrisy for Koreans then to judge PSH on 1 night stand, when he is actually the victim?
Was it intended to be one-night stand? It was reported that PSH exchanged cell phone numbers with Miss A…. and in the same press report, it was remarked that it is practically unheard of for a celebrity to give his cell phone number to a stranger.

Why do you judge PSH and us? Are you undermining our intelligence, our appreciation of PSH’s acting, our understanding of PSH and of the much publicized case (no thanks to the media and WPS)? What makes you think you know better than us? Because you can read Korean, and we cant? Because of your high Korean moral standards?

Are you aware that your spreading of unsubstantiated propaganda (which is what the Korean media and netizens have been doing) is morally unacceptable? You become a gossip monger yourself…

I don’t care about his private life, as Kdaddict said, I’m not going to date him or marry him. I just want to watch his dramas for entertaining after working, as simple as that. Actually, his “rape scandal” didn’t make me feel disgusting. On the contrary, the behaviour of WSP, Korean media, and those alphabets made me sick and frustrated. PSH only appeared 2 times publicly after the incident broke out. I appreciated that his decent act at WPS didn’t disappoint me. He deserves my support.

How long did you leave S. Korea? Is the moral standard still in the shape that you know? Where did you get the info “THE KOREAN SOCIETY AS A WHOLE DOES NOT APPOROVE OF 1 NIGHT STANDS, & this is why Korean people don’t want to see him acting anymore?” Is it from the net/media or just your vision? Are you sure you are not influenced by the Korean media? Those negative news flooded all over K media and community platforms*, don’t you think it is probably a conspiracy? Don’t just listen and watch, use your noodle to analyze before spreading out. Or conspiracy theory: are you an anti-fan who wants to spread negative news to weaken our confidence in PSH?

Why do some people continue to criticize PSH? No one has the right to judge a person. Let’s put it this way, one night stand is really a sin in the eyes of God (to whatever religion we believe in). People made mistakes in life and it would reflect to us later on, on our judgment day. In human world, some may say one night stand is a sin but mostly in other countries one night stand is not a big deal for them because people around the world has different views in life that we believe in. And we are now in modernized world. People are now broad-minded. A lot of people also doing like that.

The case was dropped, hope others will also stop saying bad words against PSH. To the fact, not only PSH doing a 1-night stand. It just happened that he’s popular korean star. If this matter happened to any actor, I don’t think it would create a big commotion the same situation as what had happened to our PSH.

To PSH, just take care of your health, take time to relax. I believe in you.

@lisa6: thanks for the link you posted regarding south korea’s sex industry, which is way current than what korean-american thinks of the “korean society as a whole”. i hope she reads it and that should open her eyes, and re-think that psh’s one-night stand does not make him the greatest ‘criminal’ in the country that should be shunned by the “korean society as a whole”.

More and more I strongly believe that the strategy was not to give Park Shi Hoo a legal punishment, no. The strategy was to give a deathblow to his public image and credibility, career, make him a pariah, to exile him in his own country.
The big question is WHO STANDS TO GAIN, FOR WHOM IT ADVANCES if PSH will disappear from k entertainment? “The Korean society as a whole”? Give me a break. Who is the wire-puller behind A-puppet and I think K- puppet too? Is it a simply revenge or something more complex and occult? I hope that someday the truth will bring to light.
PSH, you are so precious for so many, please have trust and don’t give up, fighting for your right to comeback on screen.

A Statement from The Management of Sihoorang Fancafe

    Dear Beloved Overseas Fans,

At long last, the case has been finally closed and Park Sihoo has been proved innocent. It has been arduous three months of immense emotional turmoil not only for the actor but for the fans as well.

However, ever since the case first hit the headlines in February, his fans have firmly stood by him despite adverse reportings and tumultuous course of events. Has all that been out of blinded fandom and sheer groupie frenzy? I seriously doubt it.

His fans have been more reasonable and logical than any other person who has faced the case via the media and this is the very reason the fans remain here shouting our love and support even louder than ever before.

Precisely because his fans have followed the case with objective point of view, they still remain here today as they are confident that Park Sihoo’s stance on his innocence looks infallable.

The Sihoorang Management staff would like to thank all of our overseas fans for not losing your faith in Sihoo and staying with him right till the end of the case.

We understand that it has not been an easy course for all of his fans and we applaud you all for your honesty, passion and your love for him.
It has proven it self now that he is more than just a celebrity in our lives: he is truly like a family member who will share happiness and sorrow along with his fans from all over the world.

We extend sincere gratitude to all of you for your everlasting love for him.

Finally, until he is ready to return to us in his own time, let us give him time and space to get over the trauma of the case and continue to cheer for him online.

I trust that our deep sentiments will be passed onto him and that he will appreciate our love for him.

Again, thank you very much for your love and support for Park Sihoo and please stay with him and Sihoorang for a long time to come.

Always remember, we are one big family and families unite together in difficult times.

    WIth best regards,

    2013 Sihoorang Management Committee.

PSH’s lawyer said they didn’t pay money to A, and I believe him.

BTW, parksihoo4u.com has a latest post called: PSH on SBS Midnight Entertainment 2013.05.15. There are 14 comments following that article right now. I find that those comments, written by ppl who care abt him and have followed the case fr the beginning, who have digested the material and obviously thought abt it at length, explain a lot. They are worth reading.

I think there are 2 types of ppl when faced with sb who made a mistake:
Those who have no qualms picking up a rock to stone him, while thinking themselves righteous, and those who say Who doesn’t make a mistake? Who am I to judge him? Korean American called us ‘crazy’. There exists a huge schism between her way of thinking and ours.

You said some may call u ‘shallow’ for liking an actor bcos he makes u happy. Is it Only bcos we like him as an actor that we stand behind him? Many of his fans abandon him after the incident. I think whether one still supports him has to do with one’s whole approach to life and ppl. That is more than skin deep, my friend.
