Yunho was inducted into the Republic of Korea Armed Forces on July 21, 2015.[49] He received five weeks of basic training at Yangju, Gyeonggi Province,[50] and was the leader of his squad.[51] A completion ceremony for the recruits was held on August 27, and Yunho was awarded with the “Best Recruit” honor. Yunho officially joined the military band for the 26th Mechanized Infantry Division on August 31.[52] On May 9th 2016, He was honoured as Special Warrior which was awarded to only 1% of the entire land force after fulfilling an extremely high standard physical & mental tests. [53] He will be discharged from service on April 20, 2017.
