Jo Kwon (2AM)

Jo Kwon (born in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea) is a South Korean singer, dancer, entertainer, actor, MC, and leader of the ballad boyband 2AM.

Jo Kwon is the longest-serving male trainee in JYP Entertainment, having trained for 2567 days; exactly 7 years and 10 days since joining JYP. He was chosen as the last member of Park Jin Young’s “99% Challenge Project” along with Sunye of Wonder Girls. In 2008, he appeared on MNET’s Hot blood, a program that showed the intense physical training that 13 male trainees had to go through for the opportunity to debut in either a 4-member ballad group or 7-member dance group One Day under JYP Entertainment. After getting through the eliminations, Jo Kwon was given the position of 4-member ballad group leader. He has been attending Kyung Hee University.

On September 21, 2017, it was announced that Jo had officially left JYP Entertainment after 16 years.
On November 2, 2017, it was announced that Jo had signed with Cube Entertainment.
He enlisted on August 6, 2018 and was discharged on March 24, 2020.

2AM reunited after 7 years with their 4th extended play, Ballad 21 F/W (2021).
